The difference is significant. Assuming you aren't into comics, do you think higher resolution or color are a big deal? They'd certainly make subscribing to magazines on your Kindle much more attractive. Also, the engineers I know don't think Kindle can replace their textbooks yet - do you agree? If so, what's lacking?<br /><br />Hmm - apologies if my comment is more about the merits of each as an ereader than their merits as gifts.
